Extended Education

In partnership with school districts throughout Northern Kentucky, Children, Inc.’s extended education programs operate opposite of the regular kindergarten class.  This allows kindergartners to remain in school for a full day of learning, with before and after school care also available.

Other quality aspects of Extended Education include:
  • Curriculum aligned with the schools’ Program of Studies Core Curriculum for kindergarteners
  • Programs follow the nationally recognized High Scope method of instruction, utilizing an interactive classroom environment with hands-on learning materials
  • Eight additional Quality Curriculum Components (QCCs) to help your child with advanced learning
  • Individualized learning guided by each child’s twice a year assessment data
  • Strong emphasis on building social-emotional skills using individualized screening tools to guide teaching and practice
  • Strong Literacy and Language instruction
  • Teachers have formal education in early childhood care and education
  • Affordable rates with SAS tuition assistance from the state child care assistance program (CCAP) or United Way for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch
  • Before and after school care available in addition to the extended education program
  • Follows the school calendar
