History of Children, Inc...
From a single promise in 1977 to bring families and children the best in early childhood learning and care, Cathedral Child Development Center began a transformation into what would grow to become one of the largest and highest quality child care agencies in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Today that agency is known as Children, Inc. and offers nationally accredited child care and early childhood education programs in a variety of settings throughout Northern Kentucky for infants through the school age child. Today the agency consists of nine centers, school age care at forty-five schools, a family child care network of approximately sixty-five certified providers, a home visitation program called Young Families Program that is part of the regional Every Child Succeeds network, and a variety of training programs. Each day Children, Inc.'s programs serve about 3,500 children who are cared for and nurtured by skilled staff who provide learning experiences that impact their young lives for years to come.

Through direct services, education, advocacy, and collaboration, Children, Inc. is dedicated to creating a world that understands young children and their needs. It is a place where families are encourages to participate and where high quality care is readily accessible to everyone. Whether in partnership with area school systems or various organizations; the IRS or other corporate groups; or acting independently, Children, Inc. strives for excellence.

As Children, Inc. lives out its promise to provide high quality child care and early childhood education within the context of partnership with parents and the community, the commitment to families and children continues. It is hoped that you feel the collective energy, spirit, and power of kept promises. Children, Inc. touches many lives on a daily basis as its mission, vision, and beliefs are lived out in action.
