Leadership Scholars, A Division of Children, Inc.

Children, Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of Leadership Scholars. Similar to Children, Inc., Leadership Scholars is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to building a better future for children by working with parents in our community.  The organization offers an eight week program designed to empower parents, or any significant adult in a child’s life, with proven strategies and tools to support strong academic, social & emotional development of their children. With the ultimate goal of helping their children attend and graduate college, it offers methods to lend support at home, in the classroom, and for parents to interact with their child’s school. Over the past four years, Leadership Scholars has graduated over 1,350 adults from their program.

Children, Inc.’s COO, Shannon Starkey-Taylor commented, “Our vision with this acquisition is to grow our two generational approaches to child care. By employing experts such as the staff from Leadership Scholars, and continuing to use their proven methods, we are hoping the families we serve will become stronger.”  This acquisition will strengthen Children, Inc.’s vision of all children being prepared for school and life by giving caregivers the tools they need to build lifelong success for their families.

Dr. Pat White of Leadership Scholars said, “We are thrilled to become part of a steady, mission-driven organization like Children, Inc. Their long term dedication to children and families in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky was a strong motivator in us moving forward with this partnership.”  The current class structure for caregivers will remain the same as prior to the acquisition.
