| Children, Inc. is proud of the quality and diversity of the curriculum and special initiatives offered to children and families.
Early education and care best practices, combined with the latest early brain research and development, help build and refine a curriculum that will encourage children’s learning and enrich their daily activities.
What’s this thing called Alignment?
Being aligned doesn’t always involve taking your car to the mechanic or yourself to the chiropractor! Being aligned also means that your curriculum for young children is in tune with Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards. This valuable guide for early childhood practice is a result of many hours of work by practitioners from all over the state. It offers teachers of young children a blueprint of standards and benchmarks to use in planning meaningful activities and experiences for children from birth through age 4. At Children, Inc., our teachers are using the Kentucky standards to make sure that their classroom practice meets the appropriate, developmental needs of each child. The Kentucky Standards for children ages birth through 4 years are also aligned with Kentucky’s Program of Studies for children in kindergarten
through grade 12. When teachers have the “big picture” of curriculum for the age group they teach as well as for other age groups, children benefit. At Children, Inc., our goal is to provide a seamless transition for children as they progress from one level to the next.
The curriculum has several core components. Click on each area for its own page.
